Run, Foster, Run! A Virtual 5K
Summer 2020
Working in partnership with a Foster School of Business student group, I worked as a virtual race director for a 5K that raised money for Challenge for Charity and Diversity Scholarships at the Foster School. I developed the website, created content for promotions, wrote race-specific communications and coordinated orders for shirts, medals and bibs as well as packet shipping and pickup. The event raised nearly $10,000 in proceeds and donations with more than 300 people participating across the U.S. and in four countries.
As the race coordinator, I was response for all communications to event participants. This included building the website and sending emails. Since this was a fun run, I kept the tone light and fun while making sure all emails communicated every detail necessary to runners.
